Community Safety is a Shared Responsibility - Together We Protect!

'Dare To Care' - That is the motto of the International Guardian Angels

For more than 44 years, the Guardian Angels have been a worldwide symbol of citizen involvement in violence prevention and the fight against crime.

There are currently 141 Chapters, in 17 Countries.

Guardian Angels Scotland was established in 2015 and remains a volunteer-based organization made up of dedicated individuals who generously donate their time and energy to help protect their community.  A unique feature of the Guardian Angels approach is the inclusion of young people in the safety patrols. By making young people part of the solution rather than casting them as part of the problem, Guardian Angels empowers youth to take pride in their communities and contribute to the safety of their neighbourhoods.

One of the most important things Guardian Angels do across the world is patrol the streets and provide public safety. That means we help people in all sorts of situations from crime, conflict resolution, medical emergencies, to providing information to visitors. Our goal is not to react to crime happening, we want to prevent it from occurring in the first place.

We aim to be a visual deterrent to crime and an example to encourage citizen involvement. In other words, we try to be as visible as possible so that everyone sees and talks about us. That’s one of the main reasons that we wear bright red berets, white t-shirts, and red jackets.
